The successful program founded by the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) has trained thousands of men and women over the years to work in the electrical construction industry. Kevin Fleming, Dean of Instruction, Career and Technical Education at Norco College, says the local college will now administer the NJATC program previously overseen by Palomar College in San Diego County.
Recently Alvord Unified School District offered an electrical worker boot camp to their high school students which was held at the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) facility in San Bernardino. By all accounts, the boot camp was a success. During the event, Dwight Cromie of Energy Independence Magazine talked with a handful of teachers, administrators and IBEW members about the program. ”
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #440 held a 75th anniversary gala in Riverside, California, to celebrate its successes and steady growth in spite of various economic challenges through the course of its history. The event brought together hundreds of members including leadership past and present to reflect on its accomplishments while looking ahead to the future.”
